Workplace Wellness

A psychologically safe workplace contributes to physically & mentally healthy employees

Workplace well-being is strongly associated with productivity, staff retention and decreased absenteeism. Providing your workplace with skills to manage stress can significantly improve morale and lead to both physically and mentally healthier employees.

Stress may come from the workplace, but stress can also come from home life, relationship issues, lifestyle behaviours (drug & alcohol use) and large-scale events which we’ve recently experienced in New Zealand, including cyclones, earthquakes and Covid-19. Supporting the well-being of employees can create a community of understanding and support.

“Like any health condition, mental health problems can affect a person’s work and their experience of work.

Workplaces can do things that support their people to build resilience and have positive mental health."

(Mental Health Foundation New Zealand)

Community well-being

Whether you are a large organisation, school, gym, workplace or small community group - if you are looking for a speaker or workshop facilitator on how to best support mental health & well-being - Helen from One Life offers small and large group education, workshops and training.

Helen’s background in psychiatry, life coaching and holistic health offers the perfect combination of conventional medicine and non-medical approaches to well-being.

The content delivered is personally tailored to suit your needs and will inspire, educate and provide instant takeaway tools and techniques on what we can do as an individual for ourselves, our friends and our families, and how we can support our larger community to best manage stress, build resilience and support our mental health and well-being.  The information is research-based and gained from the many years of working as a psychiatric nurse and a health consultant over the past 25+ years.

What others have said:

“This was so unbelievably on point with what we needed to hear. The way it was delivered meant we heard it in a way that it sounded simple, achievable and we understood the importance of each pillar. Knowledge is power and I know every single person took something from your workshop that they will be working on. For me personally, you honed in on some things I have been doing for myself lately that I have felt guilty for. Thank you for the reminder.” - Emma Dunn, SMASH FIT GYM, Papakura

"We were looking for a speaker to come into the firm to inspire our staff in line with Mental Health Awareness Week. Helen was highly recommended and she did not disappoint, her presentation was clear, informative and easy to follow. We received lots of positive feedback from the staff having taken something from the session for themselves and/or for loved ones.”

CAMPBELL TYSON, Chartered Accountants, Pukekohe

It is so encouraging to learn that we are not just a victim of our genetics and environment and experiences, that there is much we can do to improve our mental health

“I have done a lot of these trainings in the past but I found this particular training more beneficial. The self compassion session was a good reminder and I particularly like the BPS exercise. I will be using this in the future for myself and my clients.”
